My 2013 New Year’s Resolutions

I generally don’t make New Year’s Resolutions, however this year I thought I might work on focusing on different things in my life. I told my husband that by the end of the year I would really like to be able to do a real push up. I’ve never been able to and it would be awesome if I could actually do one. I told that to my sister and she laughed and told me I had a problem if I am giving myself an entire year to do that. She said 1 month would be a better goal. Baby steps. That’s what I told her and laughed.

But seriously, I’m working on building a stronger relationship with the Lord. I’ve been listening to Daily Audio Bible and I absolutely love it. I found it last year and am looking forward to continuing listening to it every morning. It takes you through the entire bible in one year. There is something about listening to God’s Word instead of just reading it that is comforting to me.

I’ve also joined a group that is a tech accountability group to keep me focused on my quiet time with the Lord. It’s a group called Good Morning Girls and this session we are studying Luke 1-8. The bible study is Monday – Friday and we check in with each other on a Facebook group. I’m really excited about it. We start Monday.

So this year I’m focusing on spending more quiet time with the Lord. We had so much fun together as a family doing our nightly devotionals with the Truth in the Tinsel, that I would also like to continue to do regular devotionals as a family and help us all grow together.

What New Year’s resolutions have you made? Or maybe you don’t call them resolutions just things you would like to change or focus on in your life. I’d love to hear yours.
